Is detoxing all about control? What about the ‘flow’?

New Moon Detox – Day 8

Today I wondered if detoxing is really such a great thing. It’s about control and therefore not being in the ‘flow’.

I thought long and hard about this today and decided that for me the detox has been more about the peripheral themes that have arisen.

Finishing something I start is quite huge. I’m sure you can apply it to your life too. We all have the best of intentions but the challenge is keeping the momentum going. It’s all about keeping your eye on the goal and adjusting your commitment and actions moment to moment.

It’s also been about doing what I said I would do. Being my word. Walking the walk, not just talking the talk. This is really powerful. Imagine you could be and do just because you said you were going to be and do. The great news is you can do better than imagine it. You can create it!… Read Illusions by Richard Bach for instructions!

What do you want in your life? Maybe a tropical holiday? A cool mill in your pocket. A stunning house. To make a difference to someone. Whatever it is, get in touch with it, admit it to yourself, think it, say it, do it, become it.

Today driving and listening to Noosa Community Radio the presenter was talking about an interview with the Dalai Lama in which he said the following which really struck a chord with me:

Dalai Lama
Dalai Lama

“Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words. Take care of your Words because they will become Actions. Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits. Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character. Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny, and your Destiny will be your Life.” – Dalai Lama

Smart guy that Dalai Lama!

So yes this detox is certainly making me feel calmer, clearer and more vital however it’s brought my attention to so much more.

But…I am still REALLY looking forward to a coffee…For the greater good of all!
