Hello, I am Leonie. Five years ago this started as a sustainable lifestyle blog about, as the name suggests, moving from the city to the country. But what it turned into was more a depository for my random thoughts, experiences and opinions. It became a blog about transitioning from one lifestyle to another, through many states of mind, experiences, thoughts and feelings.

I’m a writer… of self indulgent memoir, travel and for business. I love a good flick… From thought provoking art house to silly, crass humour. I get up every (well most) mornings and get stuck in to my daily yoga practice. I am honoured to be the mother of two pretty amazing little humans, and suffer tons of guilt wondering if I’m doing it right. I love to get dirt under my nails in the garden… I’m particularly in love with succulents for their otherworldly hardiness, crepe myrtles are my eye candy and gardenias smell so delicious I want to eat them. I also love to travel, but this year I feel more of a pull to stay put, which is new.

  1. I like this “about me” page. You seem (and, I’m sure, are) very real, up-front, and interesting. You also seem upbeat, optimistic, creative and all-embracive.. all of those things being excellent qualities. I’ll be following your updates!

    Also –
“I’ve got a passion for words – writing them, reading them, hearing them, speaking them,… It’s (this blog) me talking about things that I love – cooking, wine, coffee, yoga, travel, books, music, sustainable lifestyle, special people, beautiful places and intimate moments.”

In reference to this — ditto — minus, of course, afew of your particular interests, and plus some of my own. Keep writing, you ARE amazing (and a pleasure to read).

    1. Thank you so much Aun. It’s taken me a long time to get around to just being me! Especially in the written word. I’m sure as a writer you can identify with that. It can feel exposing putting yourself down on the page and releasing it to the world… But so wonderful when someone connects and appreciates your words. 🙂 🙂

  2. Heya. I came across your blog through Freshly Pressed and really like the topics that you write about. Looking forward to hearing more about your yoga and writing adventures 🙂

    1. Thanks for your comment Allie. It’s been so liberating being ‘real’, being comfortable with sharing me with the world for better or worse. It’s when we’re prepared to be ‘real’ that ‘real’ connections can be made. 🙂

  3. I saw your article on freshly pressed, and it’s been a pleasure to follow and keep on seeing what you write. I just want to say you really inspired me for my own blog. I only just made it this Friday and had no idea what I wanted to do, only that I wanted to write more and somehow make my life significant. The 30 day writing challenge is brilliant. As my favorite creative writing professor said, Deadlines are your friend.
